My 4" was never this brutal.
I wanted to run 300 rounds through Her this weekend. Sounds like a torture fest.

It's good for ya'! A little pain, and a sore "thumb muscle" *technical medical term inserted to make you think I am really smart* will just make it bigger.. and chicks really dig that...

The springs will get softer.. I promise..

The guys on this group said for me to keep the mags loaded and things would get better. I bought a HKS tool to help get those last few rounds in because my fingers don't work as well as they did 30 years ago. Now, I can load all 9 rounds in my XD40 SC so they were right.
Where are you from in Nebraska? I lived in Lexington for 35 years and have a married daughter who lives in Omaha.

I had a similar problem. I had just used the mag a few days ago (9mm 15 round mag) with no problems but I had shot up my carry ammo. So later in the week when I got more the mag wouldn't go to 15. I cleaned it but still no go. Then I banged the end (not hard) after loading about 12 and it loaded all the way. PS I have an HKS and it still wouldn't load to 15. I think the springs kinked and wouldn't compress all the way.

I'm too lazy to look this up, but I once asked about "wearing out" springs on AR15 mags over at AR15.com. They pointed me to a website of "Common Fallacies" about AR15's.

One myth that was disputed on the website was that springs "take a set" after being loaded for a long period of time. The site stated that springs only become weaker after a full cycle of compression and decompression. In other words, it isn't the length of time that a spring is compressed that weakens the spring, but thenumber of times it is compressed and decompressed.

I have no clue how accurate this information is, but it certainly seemed trustworthy. Besides, it was on the Internet, it must be true. (*cough*)

If this is true, the best thing might be to repeatedly load and unload your mags. Does the HKS speedloader also unload mags like a LULA?
