Congrats... An actual 2011 is a really nice design... But the Wilson Combat is not a 2011...but it is a superior design. I was so impressed with mine. It's so clean, so minimal. The way the grip panels are wedged in... Never ever a squeak or rattle. Such a fantastic evolution. And yes, no need for a grip safety. I defeated mine on the 2011,and it's a big reason I wanted the WC X9.

This is the Experior, which has a 1911 slide. So it is a 2011, at least according to Wilson and everyone that’s tested them.
The EDC X9 is NOT a 2011. Two different guns.
They do look similar, but they’re not.
I own the EDC X9 and it’s compact little brother.
That's weird... So on the grip, is it removable? Is the screw covered by panels? The biggest feature of 2011s that made it a 2011 was the grip sub frame that attached to the slide frame. Same with the new SA offering. So it could be polymer or metal and was all one piece. Caspian always had the double stack, but it was all a one piece frame. Not like I know what the 2011 patent says, that's just what I thought. Is there a seperate grip frame that detaches from slide frame. People call it a 2011, but I can't find one broke down.
