I finally had some time to set up my new Hornady Lock N Load AP and load some 40 cal. ammo. I'm very impressed with this machine. It worked great with only one problem which is easily solvable. Unique powder doesn't feed accurately in the powder measure. I'm going steel plate shooting Sunday and will try to give away the powder to someone who can use it. I'll change to Power Pistol or Win 231 which should feed much better.

I bought the machine from Cabela's for $300.00. Cabela's have a $50 promotion so cost was $250.00. I've toyed with the idea of buying the case feeder but that's another $150.00. I'm just so grateful for the increased production I have already, I don't want to jinx myself by getting greedy. I think the Hornady machine represents a very good value and deserves a strong look.

I didn't realize there was any deal. A complete surprise to me. I don't know if it's tied just to the L&L or not. It's a $50 rebate that can be applied towards future purchases at Cabela's. It's expires Mar 31, 2006. I don't know how long this rebate will be available.

I've been looking a lot at this press lately as well as a Dillon 550. If you have the 2005 Cabela's Shooting catalog, they mention the $50 Cabela's Bucks rebate on the page the Hornady press is listed (page 22 I beleive). It only applies to the Lock-n-Load Classic or Lock-n-Load AP presses...but $50 bucks could buy other toys and components to go along with the press. It's looking like a mighty tempting deal.

The new Cabelas will be halfway between us, Cris. I was at Thanksgicing Point a couple weekends ago, and I saw part of the building. It's coming along quite well!

I can't wait. Plus, from what I hear, they have smoking deals during their grand openings on everything. I don't think they make a profit but just super deals to get people in the doors. I wonder if they'll have any XD's on sale?
I don't know if I can hold out until then to get a reloading press though...
