I think the Thompson is a much better use of .45acp.
Just my opinion.

From the description, it seems to use the same barrel and slide, so I don't see what you'd be gaining apart from a ridiculous number of rails, a lot of weight, and mall-ninja ugliness.

adding a buttstock and $200 SBR stamp would give you a little more versatility, but it doesn't do much for me.

I'm guessing that adding a stock to that makes it a short barrel rifle.

I much prefer the carbine conversions that just use the bottom frame.

you're taking a good sidearm and putting it in the place of what should be a carbine with a real barrel on it.

Like the Mechtech that's been around forever.

You do realize you can't own one of those unless you're a dealer, right?

You could dress up a USC to look like a UMP, but the fun switch ain't gonna happen...
