This is my first post on this forum. I just did a search to see if I could get an answer to this, but found nothing.

I just got a XD Tactical (5 in barrel) and need a holster for Steel Plate matches and IPSC. Uncle Mike's holsters work fine for me and my Sigs. But they don't seem to have one for the XD Tactial. Or will the holsters designed for the 4-inch XD's also work for the 5-inch Tacticals. Thanks for the help!

Welcome to the forum. I use the Blade Tech Belt holster for my 5". As far as I can know, any open bottom holster for the 4" will work for the 5" also.

I can't speak for uncle mikes kydex but the fobus one I used designed for a 4" will fit a 5" just fine. The barrel sticks out of the bottom of the holster,drawing is just a tad bit slower but it doesn't make it unsafe.

If you bought a 5" for competition, you might as well get a tek-lok or DOH made by bladetech...you won't be sorry. They make some of the finest holsters!

I have used a Fobus holster made for the 4 inch with my 5 inch. Worked fine. The barrel sticks out a little but its no big deal. The Uncle Mikes is a similar holster. I now have a Blade Tech belt holster made for the 5 inch. I would recommend this one for sure. Its a little pricey, but well worth it. Its also legal for idpa comp as well as others too. I got mine from Pistol-Gear.com

Similarly, the XD Gear holster that came with my 4" works with the 5", but the Blade-Tech made for the 5" works much nicer

I really like my Blackhawk CQC holster for my Tact. I believe that both of the sponsors listed above carry this fine item. I've been using it for USPSA matches.
