I'm carrying my XD in the car, and have if in the center storage area (under the armrest). Is there a good holster (or something like that) that I can keep it in to keep it from banging around in there?

How do you all carry in your car?

when its not on me, its in one of those thick nylon Uncle Mikes ($16), and tucked between the seats in my truck.

I took an uncle mikes paddle , removed the paddle ans used velcro (1" wide tape on the holster and on the inside of the center console...it hold very well and doesn't bounce around...also hold an extra mag holder (a olsd cheap one I found at the local gun shop...velcro both items and you have instant mag and pistol holder with easy access...use lots of velcro...4-5 strips so the whole holster is covered..Hope this helps

For console storage, a cheap Uncle Mike's IWB will provide plenty of protection for the gun and guard against accidental discharge (as unlikely as it sounds - stranger things have happened). I don't know how you prefer to carry, but these holsters also allow you to quickly and securely allow you to tuck the gun into your waistband. My main mode of carry is an XD9 SC in an Uncle Mike's IWB on the hip.

R Dub which Wilderness Safepacker fits a XD service .40?
The "Commander" size will fit the XD Service. The "Government" size for the XD Tactical.

I never take my pistol off when I drive, I figure if a car jacker wants my car he can have it. No reason to give him a free gun too.
I'd let him get into the front seat (kill zone) and if he makes any aggressive move directed at me with a gun or the vehicle, I'd go to guns and stop the threat.

That would be real hard to do if your pistol is in your center console

No matter what any of you think, especially you guys in Texas, I won't take a mans life over a piece of property, I will only do it to save human life.

Doorman,
I'm not slamming Texas per say, but you guys do have a tendencey to shoot people over **** like car stereos.

R/T Performance,
If that's a photo of your truck in your avatar, you'll never have to worry about me stealing THAT! My Ford F series would blow the doors off the GM product you call a truck.

FatMatt1981,
I'm not allowed back in Indiana since I killed some smart assed guy who's truck I was stealing.........

If ya'll couldn't tell, I'm funnin' with ya....Peace out

I'm not sure I follow.
How is the aforementioned carjacker going to get in the front seat without having already made an aggressive move directed at you?
I've never been carjacked and I don't know any carjackers personally, but I'm guessing they don't ask politely for your car.

Please understand that I am a simple Texas man, but I know how you left-coast liberals like to speak in contradictions.

Oh yeah...if you couldn't tell, I'm funnin' with ya.
