I did a search on here, to no avail.

What's the hole in the top of the XD for? The one about 1/2" behind the loaded chamber indicator. Thanks.

There's a roll pin in there. I don't know what it holds but I suspect something to do with the ejector or striker. I'm sure someone on here will know.

It's an 'accuracy vent' to let out excess accuracy, thus not embarrassing guns costing much more :wink:

Or the blinker fluid reservoir, I forget...

Seriously: It's the striker retaining pin.

Seriously it serves as the end-stop for the striker.

It's the velocity hole. If you put your finger over the hole while shooting, it will add velocity to the round your are shooting. Sort of like +p ammo for free....give it a try...:mrgreen:

It's for the optional car jack. That was a promo that Springfield was offering last month. Was not a big hit though.

mine doesn't have a hole, but it does have a little post sticking up. maybe yours is the female XD? ;)
