Can someone please suggest a midrange holster for my 5" XD40 tactical? I've looked at so many sites...my head is spinning. Just when I find one that will work, they don't have it in a lefthand version.

I just bought an Uncle Mike's hip holster with extra mag pouch that works left or right handed. It's made out of nylon which may not be what you're looking for though.

Check out comp-tac.com or gunnersalley.com. Comp-Tac makes paddle holsters that keep the gun close to the body and are comfortable. The slide model can fit all three sizes of the XD40.

If your looking for a concelable holster. Comp-tac makes thier C-TAC IWB holster in a lefty and for all three sizes.

Don Hume makes a decent, affordable ($50) holster for the XD.

Thanks for the help folks. I ended up with a Bianchi 7001 and a Bianchi UM84 military.
I like the versatility of the military holster. Since it is not a duty or CC weapon, I can lock down the flap and have her well protected. I can wear it on the leg as well. I did remove the rubber grommet and spray the inside with silicone.
