Fired my XD with new firesights installed by James and first shot front fiber optic went flying off...
Luckly I found the pipe....
What can be used to glue this in so it stays secure?

What is the diameter to order extra light pipes? ( How do I measure for this)

In the past I have used transparent epoxy to secure FO sight tubes that showed a tendency to break like that during matches. The brand I use is Kwik Weld, but I prefer the slow setting kind that survives high temperatures well.

The melted ends snap off during recoil and the rod will fly out, so try a little dab of silicone under the fiber then melt the ends. Then under recoil even if the end breaks off the fiber otitic will not fly out. I have been doing this for awhile now, and they still break, but will stay in place. I just check on mine every now and then.

I got the replacement fiber optics from Brownells...

What is the best way to cut this stuff? It is in a 6" section..

How much extra should I leave, so that it has enough to melt a solid front and back?? I assume the better bead that is melted the better it will stay on during the slide recoil.....

Thanks
