Hello all. Been into firearms for close to 30 years (Yes I'm older) and love my Springfield XD40 subcompact. Recently swapped out stock sights to Trijicon HD sights...Boy was it a pain in the a@@ removing the stock sights!
It is the red laser. Crimson Trace LG-448 (LG-448g is the green laser). I love how it performs. The moment I grip the pistol, laser is on. Pressure pad is right under the bottom of trigger guard where it connects to the grip. Factory says it's sighted to 50yds. It does look like it's on point. Best part is batteries for life.
Also from California and have the same XD40sc, also changed out the sights to the Trijicon. There was a gun shop in town that would install for free when you bought the sights from them, glad I went that route, he said they were a pain to get off as well.
I like to tinker with my guns and even with the MGW sight pro pusher, it was still EXTREMELY tough removing the rear sight out. I've changed sights on my CZs, HKs, Glocks, Sigs, Berettas, S&Ws, but Springfield was a doozy.
