I'm taking my family to South Dakota for vacation this summer. Just wondering if I've gotten my details correct for CCW and traveling to SD including Mount Rushmore.

SD honors Nebraska permits. CCW is allowed in National Parks (but not inside Federal buildings aka visitors' centers). Caves seem to be a gray area but the info I found was that since Federal employees regularly enter the caves to work, they are considered off limits. We are going to a privately owned campground, therefore the policies of that campground need to be checked.

Sound about right?

Many of the caves here in the Black Hills are privately owned, so federal rules don't apply. But check their policies as well.

Note the prohibited items in Jewel Cave (NPS owned) Jewel Cave National Monument - Guided Tours (U.S. National Park Service)
I don't see any such information for Wind Cave.

If you have any other questions about the Black Hills area, feel free to pm me.
