After calling literally over 10 gun shops looking for a XD Tactical w/ a green frame, I got 10 replies that no one had ever seen such a thing. Then on Saturday I saw one at a gun show, and the next day I saw one at an IPSC match. From none to 2 in 2 days. The guy at the gun show said they are, "extremely rare" and used that to justify his $530 price tag. He did have a 4 barreled COP in .357 magnum, and some other very rare guns, however.

Does SA make a green 5", or are these custom/Frankenstein jobs that I saw over the weekend?

yes they make it here's the #XD9404HC that's 9mm XD9405HC that's 40s&w,
XD9406HC that's .357 sig however they could be bckordered or something like that...

I've seen 3 at local gunshows recently and none have been over 450.

found 3 websites over the last 2 weeks that had the 5" tactical in OD green in stock and priced at 430-449. They are out there and not that rare.

Ive seen em at gun shows from time to time.I dont know how far you are from Knoxville TN. They are having a Big show May 21&22 at the jacobs building right beside the Knoxville Zoo.The last time i went last year they had all kinds of XD's

I just bought a 5" XD in 40 cal. O.D. green and 468.00 out the door. and it shoots beautifully.

I've got two XD 5", both OD green. Traded away my black one to a friend.

Tacticals of any sort are hard to find. Once in a while a local shop has one, but they go quickly.

Been looking for an OD Tactical 40 for a couple of months. No dice at any price, at least so far. I did buy an OD Service 40. I decided to keep the 9s in black, and get the 40s in OD. I color coded the 40 mag basepads with green paint as well.

I have both a 4" and 5" in .40S&W and Green frames. Paid $409/each at the Richmond (VA) Gunshows during the last two years.

They are out there, but you generally won't find it in a store. You'll probably have to order it or pick one up from a gun show. In any case, $530 is laughable. I've seen them from between $400 - $450. I got mine for $410 + tax, 2 factorm mags, NIB.
