I'm very impressed with them. They are very well put together and plenty bright. They also came with a Delrin punch for installation as well as a free mil-spec 12 hour light stick and a coupon for 33% off any purchase of light sticks (which I plan to use). I don't know about you but I really dig freebees, no matter how small. Overall I'm very satisfied with the whole experience I've had with this company and would recommend them.

Eagerly awaiting installation report and range report.
Was this the $49 deal I read about?
Yes these are the ones I got for 49.00 on sale (Reg. 99.00).
PICS! Pic looking down sight radius... Pic looking at target down sight radius.... range report... do they really help you at all with target aquisition?

indeed!
I promise I will give a more detailed report on them and cover these questions just as soon as I get a chance to get in some range time with them. This was really just meant as a first impression kind of statement in terms of customer service and initial impression of the product quality. More to come on them soon.
I forgot to mention that the reason I haven't been able to get in any range time in yet is that I ordered the gun and sights at the same time and the gun isn't here yet. In fact I sent my money to Impact Guns 3 weeks ago and they just processed it today. The gun was in stock when I ordered it (XD .40) but now they're telling me it's out of stock. Maybe they should have pulled the order when it was placed :? ? Anyway to make a long story short, I told them this was for duty and I needed something sooner rather than later and I ended up changing my order to the 9mm. On the upside, they had the 9mm in the package with holster and extra mag so that's what they are sending me. I almost bought a 9 instead of a 40 to begin with so I guess it doesn't matter all that much. I'm just tired of waiting :( .
Dang, my dealer placed my order for an XD40 package on Tues. afternoon and I took delivery today at 3:00 p.m.

What company is that, exactly? This is quite a deal, and I must jump on it... like a fat kid on a trampoline!

I ordered the sights direct through Ameriglo at their website, and it's them I'm refering to. Here's a link: http://www.ameriglo.net/index.html

I know what a punch is, but what is Delrin?
So, these sights can be put on without a gunsmith? and since you don't have your pistol yet, this question goes out to others who might know? Is this sight more for fast combat type shooting or is it just as good or better than the traditional sights from the factory?

I'm on a budget, so those plain black sights are a good deal for around $25.

My rear sight came off my XD ported the other day, so half the work has been started for me already. :)
I have used ghost ring style sights before just not yet with this perticular weapon, and yes they are basically for fast target aquisition or as you put it, combat shooting. As far as rather or not you need a gunsmith to install them, that really just depends on your confidence in your ability. I can't really say one way or the other, but if you have any doubts take it to a smith. I plan to do it myself but if I happen to run into anything unforseen I'll stop and take it to a smith also. Those plain black ghost rings do look to be a pretty sweet deal if you don't need the night sights on em. I needed the night sight version since most of my shift is during night time hours.
Thanks! something to think about. I wish I could try them first, but for $25 the plain ones are a good deal. I really don't like the "line up the 3 dot sights" that come with most pistols these days. I try to line up the sights and the dots are something I basically ignore.

I think I will order the plains ones for now and try them out. Thanks again! :D
Anytime man. For the money I think they'd be a pretty safe bet. I'd be willing to wager you'll really like the ghost rings, and if you decide you don't you still won't be out much cash at that price. Let me know how you like em.
Given that you ntoed this is for a duty gun, do the speed rings inhibit holster carry?

I was hoping you wouldn't say that. The sale price is up to $69.99. :-/

Nope.
It seems like these would help with target aquisition in combat situations, but are they as easy to shoot accurately at 25 feet? 50 feet? If they still allow somewhat accurate target shooting for plinking, I wouldn't mind picking a set up.
