ever since i got my xd i have shot Whinny white box value pack of 100. ever since i got it every time i went shooting it would jam at least once.
Two weeks ago i replaced the extractor, went out and shot 80 rounds. 2 jams (fte's) This past weekend i went and bought 1500 rounds. 1000 of S&B and 500 rounds of silver bear. Went out and shot 200 rounds not one fte's or jam....wOOHOO!!!

I can get blazer brass for the same price at wal mart... Seems to me a little higher on the quality scale...

WAY overrated?...rediculous statement
overrated?...I don't think so.

It's very reliable ammo at a very reasonable price. And it's readily available at every Wal-Mart I've ever been to.
I wouldn't use it as carry ammo, but when it comes to inexpensive yet trustworthy practice rounds, I think WWB has earned it's favorable reputation.

I prefer the UMC green boxed 100 packs in 9mm... I get them for 11.60 per 100 vs. 10.96 for WWB.... They just work better for me in my CZ and nobody can beat the UMC for JHP's in 100 packs for $14

Is your Xd a 9 or 40?

My 40 has not found a round it does not like. It has Glock-like ammo tastes! Eats everything I throw in it. I guess I got lucky with my XD-40.

Well if you have been reading this forum for the last couple of years or the CZ forum you can't help but notice that those people that have experienced failures to extract with their pistols have normally only experienced FTE with Winchester white box ammo. Coincidence? I don't think so.

I haven't run any WWB thru my XD 40 yet, I know I've had some issues with it and my 9mm P89. I guess I got lucky with my gun also, I've put 800-1000rds thru it with not a single malfunction.

I just picked up a few boxes of S&B at Cabelas for 7.99 a box. Have yet to shoot any of them.

My XD-40 had numerous failure to feed with all kinds of ammo primarily JHP. It wouldn't even chamber WWB JHP's. Anyhow, I sent it back to SA with a detailed letter and they polished the feed ramp, breech face, did some work on the slide and re-radiused the chamber. My XD-40 is now ravenous!! I can't seem to feed it enough ammo JHP or FMJ. My point is these guns should shoot any factory made ammo. Send it back and get it fixed.

My XD .357 Sig really likes Speer and Doubletap :shock: . No problems, although so far I haven't used anything else.

I have put over 4,000 rounds through my XD since purchasing it on 15 January 2005. Nearly all of them were WWB, and I have experienced only two problems: 1) FTE stovepipe, which I believe was actually with a box of American Eagle, and 2) FTE jam, which resulted from shooter error (hard to explain). Not bad for $0.16/round.

The main round I run through my XD-40 has been WWB and again no failures to feed or eject. Ditto for WWB 9mm in the Hi-Power and I cannot tell you how many WWB 100rd value paks I have run through my 1911s.

Maybe its the gun? May need some tweaking? Tensioning of the extractor?

I have an xd 9 4". Even after i replaced the extractor with my new one. i took it out with a box of WWB (FMJ) and had 2 fte's . I was taking a look a the brass and the lip of the brass that the extractor pulls on is thinner than on the S&b (FMJ) and silver bear ammo(JHP) that i bought. I shoot over 500 rounds since replacing my extractor and the only fte's were with the WWB. i think it is due to that thin lip.(dont sure what to call it )
