With pearce grip extension.

Little more porn!

And a close up!

With grip extension!

Let me know what you think. Besides the fact that the picture quality is not good. I was scared I would mess up the grip but I think it turned out ok after all.

Dremel with cutting disks, sanding wheel, little flap disk, sand paper, and razor blade. And lots of patience.

Thanks, approx how long did it take you? I've been thinking of sending mine to Bowie Tactical for his cut-down. If this isn't too traumatic I'll save myself the money to buy more SC mags.

All I can say is WOW!! I think that may be the best cut-down of a service I've seen yet ( no offense to anyone else). When are you going to open up your shop for this kind of work?

Unless you have a setup to make sure you cut the angles correct then you would have to charge a huge amount of money to do this and make it profitable. The angles on the inside were the hardest to get to fit right. And also the rear where it curves up. I made a template of the XD gear sleeve and tape that onto the grip and started cutting away. I left a little extra length so that i could fine tune it with sandpaper. My girlfriend still doesn't understand why I would risk ruining a $400 gun even though it came out ok. but the grip did stick out a little and i think this will me conceal it better.

Nice job. I have thought about a "chop" job but never been brave enough. BTW, nice book you used as backdrop. David (the author) is a good guy to deal with. IMO the book is a must read for anyone. Got mine from David over on GT under the smart shopper section.

I just finished the book today. Left me wanting to find some other good books to read.

Nice job.

I guess I'm wondering why you would bother chopping the grip down, only to add it right back on in the form of a grip extension.
