can anyone tell me what causes the first shot to impact differently?

someone said it was "handloading" the bullet...ie, slide back, insert mag, slide forward as opposed to the OTHER rounds get automatically cycled.

thanks. :)

Yes, most semi-auto pistols will shoot the first hand cycled round differently than the other rounds that are stripped from the magazine. This is very common. Oil has nothing to do with it, it is hand cycling that causes flyers. There is really no way to prevent this that I know of. Some pistols are worse than others but it is nothing to be concerned about.

is it an issue of the the lack of recoil forces applied when i cycle the slide by hand, that cause some minute difference in the characteristics of the bullet?

hand cycle=less force on the weapon system
recoil cycle=more force on the weapon system
