I went and picked up my XDm 9mm today. Went straight from the
gunshop to the range. It has been almost 6 years since firing more
than a BB gun with my son. After comming home from Iraq I sold
every gun I owned except a few shotguns, and a 22 that my father had
bought for me.

So with things looking the way they are in the country I decided I might
need to start getting a little more protection around me. So I picked up
the XDm 9, and a cheap box of Winchester White Box ammo. I fired about
80 rounds threw it, and loved it. My first target on the left was off pretty
bad. Its weird after all the experience I've had from being former LEO, and
in the ARMY I was still nervous.

Anyway I had a few fliers but I'm just going to chalk that
up to getting back in the saddle. All in all I was pleased with
my first time out. But will be trying to make improvements
with each trip to the range.

Target on the left is from 20yrds,and the one on the right is
from 30yrd. Any advise on pulling them to the left will be
appreciated.

I'm still waiting for my XDM to come in. So excited! I'm picking it up next monday.

As for the shooting left problem, I'm a newbie to guns, but I found this chart that should help.

Pistol and Revolver Error Analysis and Correction
I read somewhere on this forum that shooting left might be because of having your finger too far on the trigger, like at the first joint. The pad of your finger should be on the trigger

Not bad from more than 6 six years of hibernation from shooting:)

You'll find yourself more attached to your XDM as the weeks goes by... happy shooting

Nice I love my XDM9, it feels tighter all around compared to my XD45 but I still have a soft spot in my heart for the XD45, like a favorite pair of jeans!

Nice Shootin. As far as shooting to the left. Im guessing your right handed? Most people that pull their shots to the left are wrapping their finger too far around the trigger. The natural motion of your finger when pulling it towards you is to the left. Try using just the pad on the end of your finger.

I love the weight of the XDm while firing. It just gives me a better feel of confidence because this gun was put together really well. Everything is tight! The grips are confortable and secure. Makes shooting fun and relaxing.

When I bought mine, I figured I'd be saving money over the .40 cal. However, I think I make up for it by shooting more.
