Went ahead and called SA this morning to check the status of their shipment. Finally SA got their shipment in from Croatia and will be shipping my XD40 OD Green out to the dealer this week. Which means that if everything goes as planned I should have it by next week at the latest.!!! Cant wait!!

Did it cost a fortune to get one the way you did?? The local gun store that carries some XD's seem to have their head up their butt here. If you ask them to order you somethin....they might they might not...just depends on which goober is working that day

Well I placed my order in the beginning of December. I ordered through Buds Gun Shop in Ky (www.budsgunshop.com). When I placed my order they had 1 OD Green left, I call back a couple daqys later to check on my order. ANother guy in the store sold MY gun that they took out of the case to hold for me out back. So they had NO Od Greens left in the store. I was pissed!! So then he told me that they were expecting a shipment from SA towards the end of the month of Dec. But then SA didnt have any OD greens either so they were waiting for thei shipment from Croatia which was coming in the 1st or 2nd week of Jan. So for the inconvenience Buds gun shop through in a couple extra mags and a speed loader for me FREE OF CHARGE!! So I paid $385 for the gun plus 3% credit card fee plus $25 shipping. So all together I paid about $420 for the gun to get shipped to my FFL. Then I have to pay another $25 for FFL fee and NY State tax on the gun for a total of about $475!! I went to a local gun shop and I would have paid more for the gun if I went through them.. But I would reccomend Buds Gun Shop to anyone!! Great service besides that one hiccup but they made up for it!!

I thought you were going to say," The Rock... comes back... to XD talk."

So I paid $385 for the gun plus 3% credit card fee...
Did you know it is illegle to pass the credit card fee onto the purchaser. It is actualy federal law. The only thing is, if your getting a good deal, your not gonna mess it up with semantics. Can't remember the statute right now, but I can find if someone wants.

If you paid Bud's for the pistol your local FFL can only charge you tax on the transfer charge for using his FFL.

Also since the gun is going FFL to FFL they do not have to use either UPS or FedEx so should not have to bone you $25.00 for shipping.

Its legal to charge more for a credit card if you consider paying by cash to be a cash discount.

so since I bought the gun out of state and not from local FFL, I do not have to pay NY state tax on the cost of gun? But only the $25 FFL transfer fee from my FFL? Is this true??

Well Buds is sending the gun 2nd day air so I guess the cost is justified a little. I dont mind because it is getting me my gun sooner LOL

No you don't, but sometimes you have to tell the receiver that the gun's already paid for. Ask for their reciept to be made out for the transfer fee only.
If your County works on a coupon system to get the gun on your NYS Permit, the coupon & the Local FFL's reciept for the transfer fee are all you need so long as the guns info and serial number are on the receipt.

I'm not sure but I don't think they charge sales tax on transfers. I don't think I've been charges tax on any of my transfers. I don't know about other states but in Florida there is not tax on services... and a transfer wold be a service not a product.... right?

I am just going to have to ask a couple of the FFL's around here and see what they say.

Well I went ahead and made a couple phone calls.. Every FFL that I spoke with told me pretty much the same thing. I have to pay NY State tax on the gun unless I have a receipt showing that I paid the state tax from where I bought the gun..
