I've never had one of these, but have read a lot on them and have examined one, and I think it's main purpose is as a "fondling blade" meaning one that you just keep to have and hold and enjoy. I honestly don't see much propensity to carry a knife of that size, (I think it'd be too heavy for most people) but it is definitely a cool piece to have for enjoyment.

I wish Cold Steel would make the Espada in a 4.5" blade. The Espada is a beautiful and wicked design, it is just too big for me - even the large 5.5" blade seems gigantic. The short Espada model looses the symmetry of the large and extra large models.
