Dumbest design ever Hellcat

Bought a Hellcat and decided to get an Apex trigger.
Spent a few hours disassembling and reassembling the gun...almost.
The little horseshoe device and tiny spring is driving me crazy.
I inserted the tiny spring several times but when trying to install the device beck into the grip module it tends to pop out.
I think my wife, a retired AF Major, learned some new words today.

I'll do it again tomorrow but if anyone has some suggestions, other than just junking the whole thing and buying another P365, let me know.
When I get it back together I may just head to the LGS and dump it.

I'm not new to this stuff...replaced triggers on quite a few guns...just cause I could.
Part of the problem is arthritic fingers due to age...>85...but never saw any design like this.

Suggestions???

Don’t blame the tool.

Are you speaking of the little round wire lock ring? Put some light grease on it to hold it in place. Vaseline ect.

A little “gun glue” will help. A dab of PTFE grease is what I used when reassembling my Hellcat Pro the two times I’ve had it torn down that far to clean it good. I hope you get yours back together soon.

A gunsmith is probably cheaper than losing money on the trade if you still can't get it.

Sorry it's giving you fits. I think I had mine installed in about 10 minutes and it feels great. I was an Armorer for 20 years so that didn't hurt I reckon. No reason to trash a great platform. Give it you bestest shot.

I should have mentioned that my Hellcat has the manual safety.
A lot different setup than the non manual safety.
Seems like an afterthought. The spring in question provides tension for the safety.

That is only an issue with the manual safety version. The safety plunger spring is tricky to get installed. It took me a few tries and choice words, but I got it put back together. The issues might be with your arthritic hands and not the design. You're not going to get your money back for the aftermarket trigger in the sale, Hellcat resale value is low, and selling to a LGS will resort in getting pennies on the dollar. You'll be losing hundreds all because you're upset that your arthritis is making it difficult for you to reassemble your pistol. That's your choice to make though.

I have to admit that I lost the original safety plunger spring when it went flying across the room never to be found again, but I ordered a replacement that came pretty quickly. I got it put back together, and I've been a happy camper ever since. Anyone who assembled a milspec AR15 before has had a spring or two go flying or get lost. I'm use to it. The Hellcat safety version is a lot easier to reassemble vs an AR15 with using specialized tools, so the Hellcat was no big deal to me.

Ya know what’s odd is that all of the XD series and Hellcats I’ve seen in LGS’s I’ve never seen a manual safety model. I don’t know if it’s just our area or if I’ve just never noticed them.

There are only two models with it right now-- one of the OSP's and one of the RDP's. I really like mine-- it's small and unobtrusive overall and requires a deliberate action to flick off, but it still does so really easily (which can't be said about every small safety out there).
