I have been having problems with my 4" XD-9 extracting. I had a box of Winchester white box 115 grain and about every other one would not extract the brass and jam up. I have heard of using other ammo but i think it should be about to use any ammo i put in there. I heard lubing and under-lubing might help. My last resort before switching out the extractor is that i heard you can have extraction problems if you have limp wrists. Can anyone explain this to me please.
I'm no expert, but remember that the case rim has to be able to slide between the extractor and the breach face as the round is stripped from the magazine. If the extractor was designed to hold the round very close to the breach face, is it possible it would prevent the back of the brass from sliding up the breach face?
I just posted about a Q&A I read that stated that the extractor groove on WWB in the 100 round packs is different from the extractor groove on WWB in the 50 round box. It also stated that the 100 round boxes tend to cause FTEs on individual guns regardless of make or model.
No more 100 round WWB for me. Even if I know a problem is ammo related I'm afrait it will undermine my confidence if problems occur.
