Has anyone tried out GunKote on his/her XD? Are you happy with the results? And finally, does applying the GunKote finish void the SA warranty?

When I had my XD-40 refinished by CCR, they used GunKote. The finish was nice.

As for the warrantly, perhaps Springfield can answer that. If you want to make sure it does not affect the warranty, send it to SA and have them refinish it with Armory Kote.

In either case, you will be happy with the end results.

Thank you for the reply. I will do what you mentioned and contact SA.
I am using a Service XD40 as my primary duty weapon. I use a Fobus holster when training. Is the kydex material causing the original blued finish to wear? My gun is relatively new with 1000 rounds through it, but the finish looks grotesque.

I'm not sure about the Fobus, but my Blade-Tech holds at the trigger guard area and doesn't really effect the metal.
With that being said...my duty holster is an Uncle Mike's "Sidekick" level 2 and it has caused wear on the high points. The finish on the HS/XD's is not their strong point.
However...I like the character stripes!
