My 16 year old daughter shot my XD40 for the first time on Saturday. She is very partial to the HK USP40, so I was very pleased when she declared that she really likes the XD also. The only problem for her is that the trigger feels very heavy and requires more finger in the trigger than she wants to put in. I'll probably get the trigger worked on to make it a bit lighter.

How'd she do? Well I will admit that she has slightly better aim than I. That's OK - I'm her dad, and it makes me happy when my kids do well. :D Next - My 10 year old son is practically desperate to use it at the range. I'll probably take him next.

I've been shooting a Ruger P95 for about a year before I purchased my XD40. To any of you who may have a Ruger P95: The XD40 is more accurate than the Ruger P95 - at least in our hands (my daughter's and mine).

Congratulations go to you for including your daughter in the shooting community. It is very important that young people be at least introduced to our pasttime. Without new enthusiasts our hobby will likely be outlawed and then where will we be? Way to go Dad!!!

Good for you. Another generation of new shooters on the way! After you run about 4000 rds through it, that trigger will soften up.
