Happened to walk into the pawn shop today and they had a Cz85b 9mm with case and 2 mags. It is well used but seemed clean and cared for. My fiancé and me are both right handed so no need for any of the ambi controls. They wanted 399 and are usually pretty easy to negotiate with. I haven't really been looking at them since they are fairly scarce around here, so would you wait for a 75 or take the 85? And if so what is a fair price for a used one?

The only way it could be better is if it were a CZ 85 Combat. As you've surmised, the 85 B is simply the ambi version of the 75 B whereas the Combat lacks the firing ping safety and usually have pretty nice triggers from the box. That's not to say that you won't get a good trigger on the 85 B, shooting and dry-firing will help a great deal. ;)

Buy it. Duh. Did you expect different advice from a gun board? ;)
