Hi Folks,

I live in far northern Wisconsin. Our conceal/carry law goes into effect in November and in order to get a permit, we need a training certification. Does anyone know of a course in my area in the near future?

I'd be willing to bet that the sheriffs office in your county should have that type of info.

Here in NC you take it through any certified firearm instructor and they give you a certificate. You take that to your local courthouse and pay to have your fingerprints put on file. They run a mental background check and criminal background check. 90 days and you get your permit by mail. All in all for everything it ends up being about $150 dollars. 55$ for the class 90$ for the fingerprints and Background checks. You have to renew every 5 years but only have to pay the $90 for checks and fingerprints. May be different up there but that's the just of it
