without having to go out and get a V-10 upper, do any of you all know where i could get a good compensator for my 40? (is that even possable?)

i have the 24lb springs and rod from don (incredable difference) and just want to get something a little different for my XD, something that most everyone else does not have. Not looking to get into any large ipsc ipda or what not comps with it, just something different...

Buy a 5" ported barrel from Barsto or EFK?

Yeah, Overkill's right. The extended ported barrel from either Barsto or EFK is what you want. It extends 1" past the front of the slide and is slot ported. It (should) drop right in with no other modifications. It is also only about 150 bucks. I have a 5" ported 9mm barrel for my 4" XD357 and I like it. It lets me shoot $3.86/50 CCI Blazer ammo at the range, compared to $13.06/50 357 Sig Range ammo. And yes, if you want something different, the extended ported barrel will get you attention at the range.
