What do you guys make of this? What is a good price for this? What would you buy one for? (NO, I am not selling one, I am considering getting one for around $900).

I have handled several of them..they're really nice.

Colts are a tad on the expensive side, but you have to admit that owning the original article is never a bad thing. Colts hold their value and are very well made...I own two Colt 1911s and love them.

If you have the cake and it appeals to you...go for it. The history and mystique of Colt is definately worth owning. I love my Colts.

The only caveat I would have is that if you want to shoot it the early 1911's like to bite the hand that feeds them, Hammer bite is a serious problem if you have larger hands.

Hammer bite is a very subjective thing. Some get it...others never see it ever.

I have meduim sized hands and have never been bitten by any 1911 or my Hi-Power.

I had been looking for one for some time.
Found a model o1911, Carbonia blue, unfired.
Colt WWI reissue, 1x11WMK serial number.....

Love it! I paid a bit more than that, sounds like you are getting a good price,.... if it is new-in-box.
