The red is polishing rouge. I am not a big fan, it is an abrasive, but shouldn't cause issues from a powder bunring standpoint. I would wipe it off before loading though. An old towel works great, dump them in, roll them around & done. When that is gone, go to a non rouge wlanut or corn cob & add a cap of NuFinish car polish every other tumble. Cleans up nice & makes the cases slicker for reloading.
i use the same stuff. i have never had any problems, and i dont do anything to get rid of the residue after tumbling.
i have taken to putting a small amount of high grade car wax into my media, works wonders. the residue will disappear and the cases run through the dies a little smoother.
i am, however looking for a finer media for my .223, the larger lyman stuff is a pain to get outa the case.
