Holy ****... I could buy 2 XDs for that!!! I can't see any sights and finish costing $450.
Its a custom shop gun thats had trigger work etc done to it.

Well that makes it a little different then! I would hope that it had a little more done to it than just a finish and sights! Nothing was said in that post tho' about anything else which makes it a little outrageous. :?

Would those be fiber optic sights then? Does Springfield ship them already customized or sumn?

NOW YOUR TALKIN' :lol:
These were nickel finish guns. The sights were fiber.. probably dawson. Nothing fancy or unique.

I seriously doubt these were 900 guns.
re $900 guns.... welll errr.... uhhhh.... ok, no comment after all.
my guess is nickle teflon finish on all metal parts , full trigger work, custom fitted barrel that easily would take care of the extra $400 on top of retail.
SA's Custom Shop indeed has some very nice & very pricey XD models. There are three choices ranging from $750 to $1500. The one mentioned above is the Tactical Pro for $900 (this doesn't refer to the length as you can get it in 3", 4", or 5"). The lower end Carry Pro gets a 4.5 lb. trigger and some enhanced fixed sights as well as fitting the factory barrel for better accuracy. The top two models have match fitted barrels as well as adjustable sights, 3.5 lb. triggers, etc. The $1500 Custom Pro also gets an extended boattail and stippled grip compliments of Robar. I've got to stop now cause I'm starting to salivate again! :D

Yeah...I think that should be enough of that! :lol:
I believe these guns may be the ones with Robar NP3 finish on them, that's $250 right there. If it's like the custom shop gun that was recently given away in a magazine contest, it has these specs:

* Textured grip frame
* Custom, hand-fabricated beavertail
* Rounded and textured trigger guard
* Polished feed ramp
* Smoothed and deburred trigger
* Ashley Express front and rear "Big Dot" sights
* NP3 Metal finish work, to include barrel and important metal parts
* Hand-fit and hone action
* NP3 magazines
