Going on vacation this summer in Alabama and a fishing trip in Mobile Bay and possibly on out in the ocean. I have contacted the AG in Alabama but forgot about the fishing. Was curious if anyone knew if this was legal. I figured on the ocean was a different ball game and would be beyond the scope of the state. Would the boat be the same as a residence?

Might be best to leave it at the house.

The way I understand it is if you are in U.S. waters or International waters you will be fine with a firearm on board. However, if you were to cross into Mexican waters, you would have a problem.

Where do I find the info? Coast Guard? Would they have a map? I don't think we will be anywhere near Mexico.

Try calling the AG's office again or the office that enforces fishing and hunting. I know here in SC you can open carry if you are fishing.
