Carry my service 40 daily in a galco fletch holster, I weigh 155 lbs, and am 5'7" and I don't have any problems concealing it unless I wear a tight t-shirt or something. My SC conceals just a little bit better but the difference is hardly noticeable....to me anyway. I don't think you should have any problems with it as a everyday carry pistol.

I'm 5' 11", 190 lbs (mostly gut). I know the Fobus is a bottom of the line holster, but I can carry my 4" in the Fobus wearing a T-shirt and shorts and it conceals great. I am a firm believer that higher quality holsters conceal better, but nobody knows I carrying with the fobus.

Man, i don't know how you guys do it, but i can't conceal my service model for crap. although, i didn't buy my XD for concealment. I use a Blade-Tech UCH holster with it and i'll tell ya, it just looks like i'm carying a big fricking gun. i normally 'conceal' using a fleace and a Fobus padle holster, since, it's michigan and 85% of the time it's cool and snowing. or it's just cold.

don't get me wrong, i love my xd, i just didn't buy my service for concealment. I bought a Kahr PM9 for concealment. you'd never know it was on me when i wear it every day.

Dude I will ussually conceal at least 2 handguns at a time one being a XD 4" with no problem. I can easily conceal 4 good sized handguns with no one ever knowing I have them on. Not even my family can tell when I have any on even though they know I am always carring at least one.

I have no trouble concealing my XD-9 Service. I generally use a DeSantis Speed Scabard or (if I am just going for a quick walk with the dog) an Uncle Mikes Kydex Paddle. Both conceal nicely under my leather jacket during coooler weather. In hotter weather I use a 5.11 vest for concealment. THis summer I am hoping to give a good workout to a Don Hume IWB I bought for the summer months.

Do not use a fleece, they tend to be form fitting and will cause printing. Get a looser, bigger jacket made of something heavier that is relitively stiff. Make sure it has enough room that if you close it will not tighten around your waist and print.

Newbe here. Purchased my first handgun in Jan. Springer 1911, last weekend grabed a xd 9 tactical-love it, but will get a 4" in .40 for carry. I'm 6' 3" and 150# yeah a rail and looking for IWB placed to the side of where i carry my wallet but not on the hip. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Carry mine in a Tucker "Answer" and it conceals good. It pulls the butt in tight. I may get a CTac for summer just to have another option.
I can't carry in an OWB for crap though. It prints to easy on me.

For inside the waistband carry, I use a Don Hume Model H715M, which works extremely well. For belt carry, I use a Don Hume H726 that I'm very happy with. Both are very well made and a lot of holster for the price.

Don Hume makes several holsters for the XD, in all configurations.

Hope this helps.

I have been carrying my 4" XD9 daily for almost 2 years now with no problems. It all depends on the holsters that you choose. For IWB daily carry, I us a Braveheart holster from David at www.kytac.com. This holster is amazing, it is by far the most comfortable and concealable hoster that I have found for the XD. If I am wearing cold weather cloths or dress suit coat, then I use a Blackhawk Serpa Carbon fiber holster. This is an awesome holster as well, and eventhough it is an outside holster it is still very concealable even under a light jacket. I also have a Blade-tech UCH with the tuckable shirt option that I use on occassion, It works fairly well, but not near as comfortable as the other options. I have a Pager Pal holster that works, but again not the most comfortable holster. I also have quite a few other holsters that just take up room in the closet, and bring back bad memories of the day that I wasted money on them. I have to agree with what many others have said, that you get what you pay for when it comes to holsters. hope this helps a little.
