Just FedEx'd my XD to Rich at Canyon Creek for Gun Kote, trigger job, and a set of T.F.O's to be installed......

I CAN'T WAIT FOR IT TO GET BACK.....

sucks when you buy a new toy and have to turn around and give it away to get it the way you want.....

On the way from Pistol Gear:

-Don's guide Rod with 22# and 24# springs
-skate tape grips

By the middle of march it should be complete with pic's posted.

No-one ever said you had to send it away; there are several ways to get it done by doing it yourself. Of course, there is a learning curve :roll: What I did was take a bunch of junky old .22s and shotguns that were laying around my dad's house, and practice "gunsmithing" on them. Now, I feel confident in doing a bunch of things myself on my new XD40, should I choose to.

I don't own a sandblaster or booth, I don't own a spray gun, I don't own a oven that my wife will let me f' up, and I don't feel like fabbing all this stuff and then practicing on junky arms I don't own. For the price and expertise (check out his credentials at canyon-creek.com) he's going to do a job in a month or less that would have taken me at least 6 with results that aren't guaranteed. He parkerizes and then gun kotes it. He's gonna work over a trigger I have no experience with. He's gonna install sights with the correct tools. In short, I have plenty of money and no ambition to learn or McGyver the job.
