Cabela's does have a good web site for ordering ammo. Got almost all of my 22LR from them.

The one in Grapevine is one of the larger "new" stores, but it is less than half the size of the original in Springfield or the new one in Memphis. 200,000 sq ft versus 500,000.

I also got most of mine there. They also frequently have S&B primers for $19.99/1000

Not sure if I have ever bought anything from Cabela's and don't think I have been in any of their stores (not by choice, just none around anyplace I've been). I have been in a number of Bass Pro Shop stores and most of what I have bought there has been T-shirts and bacon flavored hot chocolate and such like.

Most of my guns I have purchased form a local store which now has four locations.

I have bought a a couple at Gander - but only when on sale and with rewards coupons - such that the price was the same as or better than elsewhere.

I am not sure that this merger - if it happens - would have any impact on me or my buying habits.

I wonder in how many locations do they compete directly with each other - meaning how many locations would they close due to proximity - or if they are spread out enough that it doubles there coverage.

It would be interesting if they chose to continue operating as two separate brands and use the bulk buying power of the combined ownership to drive down their prices. Though in retail sometimes the wholesale cost of the merchandise is only a small portion what you are paying for at the point of purchase as there is lots of overhead.

Last year a Cabela's opened up 30 minutes from home. I wouldn't buy a firearm from them, as they are overpriced for what I've compared to my LGS. We do enjoy going and looking around. They always have a shelf full of ammo, albeit on the high side compared to buying online.

We're going tomorrow afternoon with the in-laws to look around before dinner. I'll probably pick up a few camping items and a sweatshirt.

Ha Ha  I hope these ass clowns got arrested.

Would of been lots more entertaining if the tank was full of piranhas.

Anyhow....Their gun prices are for the majority of those who just don't have a clue. However, I can pickup Magpul parts for what I can buy them online plus shipping, 30 min. from home.

My youngest likes standing by the fish tank. If an idiot jumped in and soaked or scared him I'd deck his ass. Now that would make a funny video.
