I have a question on buffers (H, H2, H3, Tungsten) and I can't seem to find the answer. I'm looking at a 14.5" or 16" barrel - are there any benefits to upgrading the standard buffer? I came across the post below which seems to indicate that upgrading the standard buffer would not provide any benefits.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

"H marked buffer is not needed in a regular semiauto AR15 unless running a 11.5" barrel or shorter, or in short Full auto applications using a collapsible stock setup. the H buffer is intended to stop "bolt bounce" where the carrier rebounds off the barrel extension due to fast spring rate or overgassing, ending up in light primer strikes due to an "out of battery" condition. if you are running a standard 14.5", 16" carbine, and it works, you dont need one, nor benefit from one. a 20" barrel gun already has a heavy buffer, same as fixed full length buttstock carbines."
