Looks pretty nice. Is that gold? I've thought about trying gold or silver.

Yes it is gold. I tried red, blue, white, and yellow but i liked gold the best

Nice. My first XD was filled w/ gold. Current is permanent silver.

Think about a clear coat on top of it!

I ordered an XDm BiTone through a local dealer last week and ended up with a 'black on black' which I am happier with after the fact ...

I was planning black colouring on the BiTone ... that's not gonna work on the 'black on black' !!!

That Gold looks sweeeet! I guess it's not crayon ... what did you use?

Testor's enamel paint.

I have gold on mine as well as red, white, & blue in places. I have pics of it in the "coloring in your engravings" thread. :D

You can buy Laquer Sticks from Brownells or maybe your local hardware store. They are easier and a little more permanent than nail polidh or crayons

looks good, but i still think crayons are for children.
Use a lacquer stick!
