Sorry but crayons are for kiddies. I tried the crayon shtick on one of my guns and didn't like it. Then I spent a LONG time cleaning that stuff out. The laquer stik is probably the way to go. I just don't know if it is the right size to get down in the slots of the finger grips to apply properly. It might, but you just have to get one and try it. If it doesn't do it, then go ahead and use it to highlight some of the logo's etc. on your gun.
