I have a new rifle that I would like to Bed and Float; never done it before so I was hoping if anyone could direct me to a good reference/textbook about how to do it effectively.

Also a good reloading reference/textbook would be great too, want to load my own ammunition.

Thanks,

You are basically looking at the balance point of the receiver/barrel ... Find that, and mark your stock accordingly.
Then either use a commercial product or some JB Weld to create a bedding for the barrel, and the receiver to stock fit.

I use plumbers putty to create a material dam, and I do use JB Weld for the light stuff, but would use a commercial product if bedding a higher power rifle.

In some cases, it's amazing what floating a barrel can do for accuracy.

Watch a few of these for ideas - floating a rifle barel - Google Search

Concerning reloading,
I'd suggest another post in The Ammo Can and get specific about caliber and expectations ... We've got some very knowledgeable;e reloaders here, and for the most part, all you have to do is ask

Floating the barrel on my Remmy VLS consisted of using a drum sander with my Dremel and opening up the barrel channel. I use Marine Tex for bedding the tang and recoil lug. Not much to it.
