I apologize if this has already been covered...
Just got my xd9 armory koted, and was wondering if the finish needs to be taken care of in any special way. I just wiped it down after shooting and it appears to be fine.

I understand Black T is the top finish for the XD....How much better than the other finishes
Black-T is good stuff but it is not very scratch resistant. It's all about anti-corrosion with Black-T and yes in this area it could be the best available.
Walter E. Birdsong invented this finish and has multiple contracts with US agencies to provide Black-T finishes to govt. firearms. They do hundereds of guns every day and don't advertise. Turnaround time is about 6 weeks now at $165.00.

I as well had my XD-40 Armory Koted. Although my cheap Fobus still left scratches on it, after I put some Blue Wonder Armadillo on it....it's stayed new looking ever since. No holster wear from my leather holster either.
Even dropped it in the snow when I had my arms full of stuff...beaded up and wiped clean.
Hope this helps.
