I've ordered the Blue Wonder Gun Cleaner but came across a post saying not to use it on the slide. So I want to know what do you guys use to clean the slide before applying Armadillo?

I know Old School posted that he uses Eezox, what about you?

hmm, don't use blue wonder on the slide. . . oops  I have some eezox. I normally use that or brake cleaner depending on how long it's been since I last cleaned and how many rounds I put through.

I use Eezox as I have never had the need to use anything stronger to remove powder residue. You can use BW Gun Cleaner on the slide, it is safe. I suggest you apply a bit to a cleaning patch first, and wipe where required.

If you use Armadillo on the slide, you should never need to use a cleaner again, at least this has been the case for me. Hope this helps.

I'm with Old School. I used the Armadillo first on my XD, now on every gun I own. It does as it says.
I don't think there is anything else out there that does more to protect em. Unless ya go nuts and use Turtle Wax or something drastic.

One silly thing I like about using the Armadillo stuff is that it takes a while to work with it. Cleaning my weapons is like a ritual to me. Nothin is more relaxing to me than crackin open some cold ones, crankin some jams, breakin em down, and nit pick over every nook and cranny. Leaving a beautiful clean work of craftsmanship. I've been like that for years....one of the few times I can unwind. "Leave me alone I'm cleanin"
