Ares 80% revisited

So I was updating myself with what was going on with the Ares Armory raid. The business is still open and functioning as they were before. My question is, who would actually buy an 80% from them after all this mess? I would love to support them, but you can't tell me you won't be on a list if you purchase from them.
They are still fighting(which they should be) over the customer list. Saying the list should be destroyed if Ares wins the upcoming court battle. The list has already been decrypted and recorded and will never go away in my opinion, no matter what the judgement is. No matter what the ATF says, they know everyone on that list now.
My second quandary is over the sign that may have started all this. The sign that said, "Unserialized. No registration. Legal" with an AR silhouette background. Now that sign speaks the truth. It's his right to post that sign. The thing I have a little bit of trouble with, what type of person is that sign aimed towards? Many will say, true 2nd amendment believers who know it isnt the govts business what guns I own. I agree with that 200%.
However, a part of me thinks, if this was really the customer base he wanted, he wouldn't need the huge billboard on the road. The internet is cash cow for the gun enthusiasts. In a state as crazy as Cali, with the worst gun laws in the country, one could say that sign pandered to not so legal wannabe gun owners.
Now I know that it is his RIGHT, and I totally support it, to put up whatever sign he wants. But is that sign really directed towards all of us law abiding gun owners? I'm not sure. Maybe it is. Maybe not. I think the damn sign is what caused all this illegal activity from the ATF. What do you guys think?

I dont care what the sign says, It is his 1A to have it. The ATF is in the wrong PERIOD!
sounds like the sign was directed towards anyone who wants an 80% lower receiver and doesnt want the government in their business.

I said all that above. I wasn't defending the atf. There were other questions I was asking too. Would you buy one from them today?

How about you, you think you could order one from them today and not have the government in your business?
Since no check is required, I would walk in and pay cash for one. Should be no paper trail that way.

nope, if i built an 80% lower in ct i would be in possession of an unregistered assault weapon and that is against the law. however, if i were in the market for an 80% lower to avoid government prying eyes, i would probably not buy from them just because they are likely being watched a bit too closely. however, it wouldn't throw me off from buying an 80% lower all together, i'd just find another retailer.
Chances are pretty good if you're on this forum you're already on the list. By virtue of your handgun purchase or simply by association. Buying an 80% lower is trivial at this point and something I did as a matter of principle. My name is in many lists at this point.

What are they going to do about it? Here I am.....

That's my thoughts on the matter anyway. Personally I'm tired of jumping through hoops that are put in place by the ever changing political landscape. It's either a right that is unquestionable or a privilege that is open to never ending regulations. It's up to you to decide.

I forgot how crazy the Conn. laws got recently. Hate it for you man. I agree with you, if I wanted an 80 lower there is no way I would get it from them.

Im sure they have a list of firearm forum members. I think that list is different from the buyers list they raided ares for. That list is waaay more important, printed out and being reviewed. I think the list most of us are on is just sitting on a hard drive somewhere in a huge govt. data center.

If you want to live in fear of your government then don't buy one.
