I didn't pick up the mag because there wasn't anything else that looked interesting in it.
The higher cap mag would not be good to carry, but as a reload it would make sense. Depends on how much ammo you want. I generally carry one spare mag because no mater how many rounds you fired, you should always replace with a fresh mag. IMHO
