I know I should sell it and buy the caliber I want but the gun has personal value, I’m new to the xdm and was wondering if all the frames are built to withstand the same amounts of force. I have the xdm 9mm compact and I want to shoot .357 sig out of it. Without retiring the gun and carrying a new one I’d rather throw on a factory complete .40 slide and .357 barrel

The 45 and 10 are the same width and I would think 9 and 40 may be the same. I haven’t seen any difference in the blocks and frames between any of them except width and recoil spring tension. If you can find someone with a 40 you could measure it to see if the width is the same or ask someone here to measure theirs and post it.
