I picked up my new DD MK18 today. I'll probably run up to the range tomorrow and run a few rounds through it. So far, I like how it handles; it's noticeably lighter than my V11, which I thought was already a relatively light rifle. I'm excited to try it out and start modifying it a little at a time to where I want to get it
I took the MK18 out to the range today. I just put my Bushnell TRS-25 on it temporarily, which has just been my migrating "new gun with no optic so I'll throw the TRS on it" optic. The gun shoots very smoothly. Not as loud as I was expecting, given the short barrel. My friends Saint pistol with a 7"(7.5" maybe?) barrel is a freaking cannon, comolete with concussive blast. This 10.3" is not unlike any other 16" AR I've ever shot. No gas to the face, either. So the smaller gas port DD has been outifitting them with the last few years, plus maybe the new charging handle they say is better at mitigating gas must be doing their jobs. It was ~30*F at the range, so I didn't go through more than 40 rounds, but as soon as spring hits, I can see myself there with this gun way more often. Final zero group at 50 yards pictured below. Not too bad.
