This is an interesting drill presented by a friend of mine. What is interesting is that it is best accomplished by a gun that holds 19 rounds i.e. XDM 9.

Not a bad idea. I may try something similar to this with snapcaps mixed, & a couple mags.

Teaching to put the magazine back in the holster isn't good if you carry on the street.

Snap caps would be better IMHO
