When I carried a .40 I loaded it with 180gr Winchester Ranger T ammo for carry and shot Winchester White Box for plain old target shooting.

I agree with the Gold Dot. It's good stuff that you can find just about anywhere.

Winchester white box is good for range practice and general plinking. i don't use it for competition. It is not that accurate, whether it be 9mm, .40 or 45 ACP.

Blazer is good ammo, it groups better than WWB and costs nearly the same. It is rather 'hot' ammo.

For carry, most of the better defense loads are fine. just buy some and try them out in your gun and shoot what is reliable

I use speer gold dot 180gr JHP in my .40.

Did an ammo test in PPC practice last night using Winchester target 124 gr FMJ and PMC 124 gr. FMJ in my XD Tactical 9mm. Not only was PMC easier to shoot, it grouped much better increasing my score over 50 points. Did the same with my XD40 service model and found Blazer much easier to shoot so the groups were better. Have not tried Blazer in my 9mm. Has anyone had any experience with it? Have to order some more ammo for the summer outdoor PPC.
