FOr a short term SHTF scenario, you are probably fine w/ 100rds. Really, how much can you carry along w/ your provisions & water. You are not going to be fighting off zombies. Pick up any decent FMJ practice ammo. Make sure your JHP ammo functions 100% in your pistol (yes, you'll have to shoot at least 50rds of it). Then stop fretting.
