Alien Gear Holsters
Just got my Alien Gear Holsters after a 6-7 week wait. Since I was in no hurry to receive them and had no immediate use for them the wait time was not an issue.
I ordered the 2 holster deal they have and got the Cloak Tuck 2.0 IWB holster and their OWB holster. The IWB it quite comfortable with my XD9 and the OWB holds my XD9 quite tight against my hip and does not move or try to bounce out. I will put both through their paces next year as my CHL class is Jan 17 and i have multiple classes in the spring for Pistol and Carbine. Looking forward to see how they hold up and and perform. Can post pictures if anyone wants to see them.
One thing I notice is the Alien Gear is no longer listed as a Sponsor. Is this just a company moving their marketing or was there something that caused bad blood. Curious as I am now an owner of their product.

I received my 2.0 IWB and it's great. My Galco is officially retired to table/nightstand trigger guard.
I like mine as well. I have the original version and shells for both my XDsc and my XDs. I added longer belt clips so that I now can run my belt clips on the lowest hole yet have my holster riding where the AG clips would be in the top hole.
I ordered an Alien Gear Holster for my XD40SC and it well made for the price. I ordered it back in May and I got it a few weeks later.
Love my cloak tuck 2.0 IWB very comfortable and easy to forget it's on....when I ordered they sent me an email saying it would take almost a month to get it...but after only 8 days of waiting I sent them an email asking what the wait time was about and it was shipped the next day. Coincidence? I doubt it

1) Can the Crossbreed clips be used on the Alien Gear holsters? I'm interested in using the velcro clips with the AG if I go that route...
2) For a smaller weapon such as the XDs, does the size of the kydex prove too large? My assumption is that, as the kydex can be swapped out, the kydex might seem a good size for say a 1911, but when swapped for the XDs, it might be too broad. Am I correct, or is it not too big a deal?

2. Yes you can use the leather backing for a 1911 for an XDs. There are three different sizes of the leather backings. If you use the larger backings with a smaller gun you will have extra leather on the bottom of the holster. AG has a picture diagram of what this would look like on their website.
I'm okay with the backing being a little large, I'm more concerned about the size of the plastic shell. Appreciate the feedback thus far though.
The shell is the part that is gun specific and any shell will fit on any AG leather backing, Original Cloak Tuck, Cloak Tuck 2, or OWB. For me I use the smallest leather backing and shells for both my XDsc and XDs.
I just received the Cloak 2.0 for my XDs and new Mod.2. It's my first Alien Gear purchase, and I'm very impressed. It is very comfortable and there is no break-in time like there is with leather. I like also being able to tighten the kydex and even change out the green spacers to dial-in the fit you want. It's my first tuckable holster, so I can't wait to wear it in a variety of environments. I'm very pleased.
I have one for my full size 1911, one for my LC9, one for wife's Bersa Thunder, one for wife's LCP, just ordered one for my XDM. I like the holsters, you can't beat the price or guarantee.
I have original model Alien Gear in black leather and dont have any complaints, I may get another one when I get an Xds but I'm also looking at a kydex shell with the single belt clip. anyone know of comfort complains with the holsters without the leather backing?
