I wonder what "burned up 3 chainsaws" was??? Did he not have the ability to sharpen a dull chain? Dad has been heating a 2400sq ft house and a camp, plus a garage with only heat for 40 years; all that, north of the 46th parallel and and more recently enough saw logs to build two more houses. He has gone through maybe a half a dozen chain saws saws in that time plus the current 4 he has. How do you burn up 3 saws clearing storm debris that doesn't even fully clear a shed and barn? Were these half dead and undersized homelites and china specials 110v garbage? does he not know what bar oil and 2 stroke premix are?

We typically kill a (cheap) saw every other big storm. It’s not like regular yard work where you do a little bit of work at a time and stop, you’re running the saw flat out only stopping for bar oil and premix.

Been thinking about buying a professional model but haven’t got around to it.

But within a few days everyone’s patience wore thin and rifts have developed with some folks that will never be the resolved. With few exceptions each of us were on our own. That is troubling because we were providing goods and services with very little return other than hostility. So just consider that those you may be counting on may not be very accountable or even civil.
Anyone who would help out someone like that is a bigger man than me.
