This is a Marlin X-7 in .223 I picked up brand new in the box, at a closeout for just $250.00 out the door a few years back. The gun came with a cheap, black injection molded plastic stock. With lots of sharp flash all up and down the parting line. I even got a slight cut from it, just by handling it. I saw this Boyd's Laminated Coffee Thumbhole model on sale, and thought I'd give it a try.

The barreled action and trigger guard dropped right in. The gun looks a thousand time better, and fits better as well. And with handloads off a rest on a calm day it will cut one ragged hole for as long as you want to sit there and squeeze the trigger. The whole thing took about 15 minutes to install, with zero fitting required. Thanks for an awesome stock at a great price!

Looks great and will never be banned since it's not scary now that it's wood!

Impressive to get such a nice shooting rifle for such little money.
