Can anyone explain to me how a rifle scope, low mounted on a flattop AR receiver, can make the front sight disappear, even though the front sight is "obviously" in the way of the scope?
My first attempt to mount a scope "high" failed due to poor equipment choices in the rings / mounts that I used. One of my shooting buddies told me about this phenomena. When I removed my rear sight and mounted a scope (3-9x40) low on the receiver, sure enough the front sight was not visible in the scope.
